Schreiner writers conference to feature Tim Hazell
Artist, musician, recording artist and poet Tim Hazell will be artist in residence at Schreiner University April 16-20 as part of Schreiner’s Texas Writers Conference. During his stay, Hazell will present a free public program at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 19. The public is also invited to his talk to art history students at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 18, in the Cailloux Campus Activity Center Theatre.
According to Dr. Kathleen Hudson, professor of English at Schreiner and founder of The Texas Writer’s Conference, Hazell will address “the relationship of art to culture, talking about poetry music and writing as important aspects of our culture.” Hudson also said Hazell will speak to classes, giving at least one presentation a day while he is at Schreiner.
Hazell lives in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and was formerly the director of art for Instituto Allende. He has been a teacher and faculty consultant both in Mexico and the United States, and is a well known artist and award-winning composer.
