FRIDAY, APRIL 17, 2015


10 a.m.–7 p.m., Register:  Pick up your RECALL 2015 packets and name badges in the lobby of the Floyd & Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center (CCAC).

9:30 a.m.–6 p.m., Tour of Hill Country Wineries and option of touring Texas Moonshine Distillery in Comfort. We will depart from the CCAC Lobby on Friday, April 17at 9:30 am. Morning stops will include the William and Chris Winery and Becker Vineyards followed by lunch in Fredericksburg. The afternoon will include stops at Singing Water Vineyard and Bending Branch Vineyard with an option to tour the Texas Moonshine Distillery in Comfort. Locations are subject to change without notice. Please RSVP by Friday, April 10th.

1:15–6:30 p.m., Annual Randy Shepler (SI ’54) Alumni Golf Tournament, Riverhill Country Club: Scramble Format. Individual Green Fee—$125 Recent grads of SU (2009‒14), green fee—$75. Shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Prizes for first four places, longest drive and closest to the pin. (Proceeds go to the SFSA Endowed HCCF Scholarship Fund.)

11 AM–4 p.m., Schreiner Mansion Tours: Visit the historic downtown Kerrville home of Captain Charles Schreiner, founder of Schreiner University. The building was donated to Schreiner University in 2009. The featured exhibit during RECALL weekend will be hosted by the Friends of the Kerr County Historical Commission entitled The Story of Us: The Impact of Tuberculosis on the Growth of Kerr County which depicts the story of this phenomenon and the various residents of the area that were affected and affected our development.

5‒7 p.m., Barbeque with alumni and Admissions staff, potential Fall 2015 freshmen students and their parents. No Charge for this event hosted by the Admissions staff and located on the front lawn of CCAC.

7–9 p.m., Bill Thompson SI ’51 and Sam “Bubba” May SI ’52 Welcome Back and Athletes Reception: Welcoming Schreiner Alums back to Schreiner, including all current and former athletes, staff/faculty, scholars and former students. During this event, special recognition will be given to the class of 1990 as they celebrate their 25th year as Silver Graduates.  (Hors d'oeuvres, beverages, cash bar) CCAC, 2nd floor, Ballroom #2.

9 P.M., Azul’s Lounge, Grape Juice, and Pampell’s located in downtown Kerrville. This will be a time for gathering with Alums and students from Schreiner University.

9 p.m., Alumni Reunite at the Y.O.: All ages of alums and former students gather in the lobby or in the Elm Waterhole Saloon at the Y.O. Ranch Resort Hotel.



SATURDAY, APRIL 18, 2015


7:30 a.m.–1 p.m., Registration and pickup of Recall weekend packets continues in the lobby of the Floyd & Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center (CCAC).

8‒9:30 a.m., Military Tribute Breakfast and Golden Grad Pinning Ceremony: In celebration of classes 1965 and earlier. Floyd & Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center, Ballroom 2.

10 a.m. Student Spring Ring Ceremony on the Quad at the Schreiner Seal.

10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Opening Up Buildings: Hoon Hall, A.C. Schreiner, Dickey Hall, Delaney, Trull, Flato, LA Schreiner, and Faulkner Hall.  Schreiner University students will be your hosts in these areas.

11:30 a.m.–1 p.m., Family Picnic:  It is always a great time for relaxing, reconnecting with old friends and making new ones while enjoying good food. Join us in the Schreiner Diner with additional seating out on the Commons located outside the Schreiner Diner and the Floyd & Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center.

1‒2 p.m., Class and Group Photos:  Photos will be taken immediately following the picnic on the Quad at the newly created area for the Schreiner Seal.

1 p.m. – Midnight: SU Recall Festival. Come and join in the fun with current Schreiner University students as we celebrate being a part of the Schreiner community. There will be games for all ages, friendly competitions (volleyball, tug-a-war, disc golf, color war), as well as just hanging-out, games (bean bags, horseshoes, and washers). There will also be music throughout the day, ending the night with music and dancing. All events will be at the Robbins-Lewis Pavilion.

1:30–2 p.m., Annual Business Meeting of Schreiner Former Students Association. Floyd & Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center, 1st Floor, River Room Conference Room.

2–4 p.m. Reunion of Campus Kids, Former Staff and Faculty. Get together with Schreiner’s former faculty, staff and their children who lived on campus back in the day when many faculty and staff members lived on campus. Former Faculty Clubhouse adjacent to Robbins-Lewis Pavilion.

4–6 p.m., Art Exhibit: Featured Alumni Artist, Robert W. Parvin, ’64. Bob produced the first of the Texas Historical Commission’s series of Texas regional travel trail guides: Los Carninos del Rio, The Texas Forts, Independence and Lakes trail brochures. His work has appeared at the Lyndon Baines Library and Museum, The Institute of Texan Cultures, Star of the Republic Museum and the National Museum of National History. CCAC, 2nd floor, Gallery/Atrium Area.

6 p.m., Tribute to Schreiner Legends Banquet: Schreiner University will recognize Athletic Hall of Honor inductees David Barker’64 and posthumously Emmett Adolph Acker ’53, the Distinguished Alumnus recipients David Barker ’64 and Harris J. Pappas ’60 and the Schreiner Former Students Association Distinguished Service Award recipient Catherine Carden Henry ’64.    Floyd and Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center.

8 p.m.‒12 Midnight, Fun Time with Alums and Current Students, music and dancing at the Robbins-Lewis Pavilion.



SUNDAY, APRIL 19, 2015


10 a.m., Ecumenical Worship Service:  Organized by Schreiner’s Campus Ministry, with participation by current and former students. The Rev. Susan Liljestrand, Director of Church Relations at Schreiner University, will present the message. Location for the worship service will be on campus in the Commons. (Rain plan will be in the Cailloux Campus Activity Center Theater, 1st floor.)

11 a.m., Farewell Brunch at the Schreiner Diner: Your chance to say goodbye to old friends and to the new ones you make at Recall 2015. Dutch treat.  



The General Registration Fee of $30 covers these events…with the exception of the cash bars:

During Recall Weekend,
the William Logan Library and the Schreiner University Bookstore will open during the following hours:  

William Logan Library:  Friday—8 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Saturday—noon to 5 p.m.
Bookstore:  Friday— 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturday—9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
